Essay 1-02b; Baseball

I chose baseball, because I like baseball. I chose three websites. These are about history of baseball in Japan, the rules and difference between Japanese and American baseball. Baseball is very popular sport in the world. Now it is a one of Olympics event. It began about 150 years ago. I want you tell you about historical sport, baseball.

The game was introduced by Horace Wilson between 1867 and 1873 who was a Tokyo university's professor. 1903-1934 Waseda University and Keio University match up an annual. This game continues until now, and famous. It is called Sokei-sen. The first National High School Baseball Championship, commonly known as "Summer Koshien," was first held in 1915. The powerful players scout for as a professional baseball player in the game. The professional baseball has existed in Japan 1920. Japan won World Baseball Classic last year. This game was world championship. Darvish played an active in the game. He is my favorite player, because he is terrific player and cool!

Baseball needs 9 people to make one team. One team hits ball from another team's pitcher. Batting and pitching is changed every inning. The inning is until 9. The team in the field is defensive. They catch and throw ball to defend as a point. Batting team hits ball to get point. I have played baseball with a hard rubber ball, but I have never played with regulation ball. In addition, I didn't belong to baseball club.

The difference between Japanese baseball and American baseball are three things. The one is difference size of ball. Japanese ball is smaller than American ball. This is topic when Japanese baseball players go to American league. The pitcher changes the grip to throw a breaking pitch. I’ve never played baseball with American ball. I think it is difficult for me to play with it, because the gripping is different.
Second, ties are a possibility in Japanese baseball. In Japanese baseball, there is limit until 9 innings in case of draw, but in American baseball plays game come to an end. Third, the fans sing and cheer for their team. There is some good in singing and cheering. I like Japanese baseball, because I used to watch the game.

Originally, baseball is American sport, but now it is national sport in Japan. It spreads all over the world. Japanese baseball players go to American league as their dreams. Baseball player is admiration for children. I think baseball is famous and popular sport, so I want you to be interested in it!
